At E3 2000 - a video game conference, I had an idea for an article. I wasn't sure who would care, or give me money to write about it, so I held a short-term online auction for the article on EBay. Andrew Leonard from Salon won the bidding for $14! Doh. They got Battle of the gaming giants as a result.

Description
Three men stand in charge of peddling the future of fun. Today, in Los Angeles, they opened E3 with an face to face to face argument, a three way keynote argument between Peter Main VP of Nintendo, Kaz Harai, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, and Robbie Bach, "Chief XBox Officer" for Microsoft.

They would appear to be amiable fellows, standing there together in their loafers. But Peter Main of Nintendo didn't let his heels hit the floor for twenty minutes, Kaz was sweating enough to make his shirt dark, and Robbie felt impinged enough by jokes made on stage to refuse a polite press-opportunity photo.

How do they plan to spend the allowances of tomorrow’s gamers? Who will win over Walmart?

I’ll give you 600-1000 words on this by Friday, 3am Pacific time, and an exclusive personality photo that no one else got.

I will check the bids at midnight, Pacific, and confirm the leading bidder as the winner at that time.

The seller should contact the winning bidder(s) with information on the total cost, including shipping, and where to send payment. The winning bidder(s) must pay the seller directly for the item(s), and it is the seller's responsibility to fulfill the order when payment terms are met. The binding contract of the auction is between the winning bidder and the seller.
