Fixed my laptop up a bit - the ACDSee startup bug was due to corrupt databases. I uninstalled MacAfee's Virus software - I don't open weird attachments, I didn't have any viruses and the software is invasive.

Finally I browsed the TaskList pages to strip out all the secret in-memory programs installed by the likes of Real.com and Hewlett-Packard. Bastards! For example, HPOtdd01.exe - "The sole purpose of this task is to set your HP printer as your default printer every time that you boot your PC up !! Stunning."

I didn't need that taking up memory when I'm trying to work. So I did a bunch of computer housecleaning and now my computer starts up faster. No luck on my Treo yet. But hey.

Justin, have you explored food allergies? All the symptoms you describe sound kind of like they could fit into that. Have you had any tenderness or pain on your left side, under your ribs (spleen)?

Love the pic with the Doc and the Golf magazine. Funny stuff. Anyway, take good care of yourself, hope you feel better.

Justin,

about the pic with the doc: did he know that you take his picture? If those people ask you why, do you tell them "oh, this is for my world famous weblog..."?

About the health issue: permanent, regular, moderate sport is the key. not any sport. start easy running every day, swimming or riding a bike could do the job, too.

i was once lost in career, invention, daydreams, in crippling nostalgia. and i still am for the most part -- only now not at the expense of my health.

riding a bicycle regularly will change your life if you want it to.

i've had a lot of luck lately strengthening my immune system -- and really pretty serendipitously; it was never my goal -- with various activities and diet changes. it sounds like yours could use a boost, too. try homeopathic stuff like oregano oil (kind of foul but very powerful antiseptic; take 20 to 30 drops daily diluted in 6oz. water) and a good general vitamin supplement if you don't already take one. beyond that, drink lots of focused herbal teas (yogi tea and traditional medicinals are good brands. currently in my pantry i have ginger lemon tea for digestion, throat coat for the cold i just had, winter care again for the cold, and daily detox just for kicks.)

beyond all that, the most substantial thing i've done for my health lately is yoga, which i cannot recommend highly enough. i go into more detail in my blog but basically it's like magic. i had a cold for a couple days, so i went to an advanced hatha class on monday and did some restorative poses and my cold was literally gone by the time i walked out of the room an hour and a half later. a good yoga practice would probably complement your aikido well, not to mention your frenetic lifestyle -- short, frequent periods of meditative calm would almost certainly do you a world of good.

are you gonna be at the indie game jam? if so, i'm thinking of heading over to Piedmont Yoga, which is run by yoga luminary Rodney Yee, for a class or two while i'm there. sadly, Rodney himself isn't teaching during those dates, but presumably the other teachers are good, too, and anyway i'll try to drag you along or something.

Tibor, excellent question. I have thought about that myself. Sometimes I want to take a picture and feel awkward about asking. How do you handle that Justin?

Currently use the Win XP Pro.
Where would I go to set the printer to print in the correct order. It currently prints in the reverse order?
This is weird, unless the printer has caught a virus!
Thanx for any help given here!
