Nothing is worse than finding the perfect thing and realizing it is totally out of your budget.
It's blasphemous to consider after such high art - but the wicker offerings at IKEA of late have been relatively stylish and comfy. Nothing so chic as your lotus, but ready to serve you... and withstand your exuberance!

$3000 for a CHAIR????
What a ripoff. You could hire a carpenter and have a few of them made for that amount.

Bob, I was told it takes a skilled person five days to weave the base for that chair. You figure that's about 40 hours; if he or she gets paid a nice $50 an hour, that's $2000 right there. And then you're paying for the cushions and shipping from wherever the construction happens. And there's the intellectual property - the rights to reproduce that brilliant piece of furniture. There's probably a markup, but it's still an expensive world - nice stuff. Nice stuff is an expensive world.

Love the chair, googled it and saw this. thought you might be interested. Big shipping, but probably still much less expensive.
