in high school, I once offered mike a sandwich with horseradish, he said he only ate it on Passover to feel the pain of his forefathers.1993, my first passover I remember with Ted. He was my rabbi; including myself, I was amazed so many at the table were christian, or at least not of the jewish faith.
It is a recognition of suffering. You don't need to be jewish for that. Howard articulates that well in his haggadah.
